Tahna Jackson is the Farm Liaison Officer for QLD, and joined the team in Oct 2018. The Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS) Farm Liaison Officer will be funded for two years until June 2020. While Tahna's administration is through RFCSNQ, Tahna's role incorporates the entire state. The position will provide strategic support to farming communities in drought-affected areas of Queensland. 

The Farm Liaison Officer role includes:

1. Increasing awareness of current Australian Government support programs (including mental health support programs), throughout the Queensland Rural Financial Counselling Service regions,

2. Linking with and, where necessary, organising in partnership with RFC services and or other recognised support services, local engagement activities, that promote government support initiatives,  

3. Gathering frontline intelligence for Australian and State Government about where resources can best be deployed,

4. Gathering information for the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, or agencies as directed by DAWR, to assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the FLO program effectiveness,

5. Working with State based drought coordinators, RFCS, local government representatives and Mayors, and other relevant NFP providers, to promote Australian Government support measures.

Prior to starting with the RFCS team Tahna worked for 11 years at AgForce servicing the needs of members through out QLD. Her lifetime of involvement in agriculture and Northern Australia communities grants her the capacity to understand the implications of the pressures faced by those in the industry and gives her an invaluable level of credibility

Tahna holds an Associate Diploma in Applied Science (Agriculture Production), Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management  and an Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training.
