About the Rural Financial Counselling Service North Queensland
The Rural Financial Counselling Service North Queensland (RFCSNQ) is a not-for-profit organisation that provides free, confidential and practical support to rural businesses across our service area which covers the 43 local government areas of northern Queensland.
RFCSNQ is qualified team delivering rural business support services, including rural financial counselling and wellbeing support.
RFCSNQ’s governance and strategic direction is guided by an experienced Project Management Committee.
Our background
For more than two decades, the Remote Area Planning and Development Board (RAPAD) has been a provider of Federal and State Government funded rural and small business financial counselling and wellness coaching programs, delivered through the not-for-profit Rural Financial Counselling Service North Queensland.
In June 2026, the Small Business Financial Counselling and Business Wellness Coaching programs transitioned to the new Small Business Support North Queensland identity - providing a clearer home for small business programs while maintaining the experience, relationships and local knowledge built through years of service delivery across North Queensland.
The Rural Financial Counselling Service North Queensland remains a dedicated free and impartial service for rural businesses, with program information continuing to be available through www.rfcsnq.com.au.
Our service area
Our region covers the 43 local government areas north of and including Isaac, Barcaldine, Longreach and Barcoo.
Our team are available to service any client within this area. We can travel to meet with you, or work with you by phone or online.
