A free, impartial service to help rural and small business to recover from Cyclone Jasper.

Dedicated support is available for small business (including tourism and rural), in defined disaster areas that experienced direct or indirect disaster impacts, to re-establish operations, maintain employment, and become more resilient for future disaster events.

How we can help

Our Rural Financial Counsellors and Small Business Financial Counsellors provide structured, practical support to get your business back on track, including help to:

  • identify what grants, disaster assistance and financial support are available in your area

  • understand application process and document requirements

  • access eligible funding including state and federal government programs and packages

  • deal with debt, negotiate with banks, ATO and creditors

  • connect to other support services including our Business Wellness Coaches and Farm Business Planning Officers.

Rural and Small Business Financial Counsellors

Our Business Wellness Coaches work with you personally, helping you to move forward, including:

  • support you with personal emotional coaching in collaboration with your Rural or Small Business Financial Counsellor or independently

  • help you to identify the source of your challenges and create strategies to enable you to move forward

  • connect you to support from other support services including our financial counselling colleagues.

Industry Recovery and Resilience Officers

Our Industry Resilience and Recovery Officers are an impartial service to help primary producers prepare for the next disaster, including:

  • better understand the risks facing your rural business

  • identify and develop strategies to mitigate risk

  • build resilience to the impacts of future climate-driven events such as floods, bushfires and droughts by developing

  • access financial support and mental health support.

Defined Cyclone Jasper disaster areas

RFCSNQ deliver support to nine local government areas in the defined Cyclone Jasper disaster areas.

Our Disaster Recovery Support team are available to service any client within this area (shaded in red).

QRIDA administers financial assistance to disaster affected primary producers, businesses and non-profit organisations under the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

This program is administered by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT). It is jointly supported by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Commonwealth State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
